Extensive training is offered, including additional training from direct managers and peers. Responsibilities include mounting, positioning, and adjusting various cutting tools and tooling to make quality parts per drawing specifications and set-up guidelines; setting proper feeds and speeds to ensure consistent quality; programming CNC machinery and designing/formulating programs to produce parts per blueprint specifications; creating and troubleshooting programs and adjusting machine settings as needed; assisting supervisors to meet schedules; assisting team members to ensure quality and smooth workflow; training and instructing other operators; moving stock and material; and operating machinery as specified. Requirements include passing a Machine Set-Up Test, possibly having a tow motor license, and a High School Diploma or GED (for hires after 1997).
