About the Role:

The X-Ray Technician Level 2-NDT plays a crucial role in the manufacturing industry by ensuring the integrity and safety of materials and components through non-destructive testing methods. This position involves operating advanced X-ray equipment to inspect products for internal flaws without causing any damage. The technician will analyze and interpret radiographic images, providing detailed reports that inform quality control and compliance with industry standards. By identifying potential issues early in the production process, the technician contributes to the overall efficiency and reliability of manufacturing operations. Ultimately, this role is vital for maintaining high-quality standards and ensuring the safety of end products used in various applications.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Certification as an X-Ray Technician or equivalent in non-destructive testing. (documentation of training and hours is required)
• Proven experience in operating X-ray equipment and interpreting radiographic images.
• Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations related to X-ray operations.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Additional certifications in other non-destructive testing methods (e.g., ultrasonic, magnetic particle).
• Experience in a manufacturing environment, particularly in quality control or assurance roles.
• Familiarity with industry-specific standards such as ASNT or ISO.

Responsibilities:

• Operate and maintain X-ray equipment to conduct non-destructive testing on materials and components.
• Analyze radiographic images to identify defects or irregularities in products.
• Prepare detailed reports and documentation of testing results for quality assurance purposes.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to address any identified issues and recommend corrective actions.
• Stay updated on industry standards and advancements in non-destructive testing technologies.

Skills:

The required skills for this position include technical proficiency in operating X-ray equipment and a strong understanding of radiographic interpretation. Daily work will involve meticulous attention to detail, as the technician must accurately assess images for any signs of defects. Strong analytical skills are essential for compiling and presenting findings in a clear and concise manner. Preferred skills, such as knowledge of additional non-destructive testing methods, will enhance the technician's ability to contribute to a broader range of quality assurance activities. Effective communication skills are also important, as the technician will need to collaborate with various teams to ensure that any issues are promptly addressed.

Travel:

Level 2 candidates may be asked to travel to customer's location for additional training and certification by customer. (less than 2% of time).

Pre-Employment Requirements:

Must pass a background check and Alcohol & Drug Screen. Must have appropriate number of hours to fulfill a level 2 qualification.
