Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Software Engineer to serve as the subject matter expert (SME) in Envoy Proxy. In this role, you’ll be instrumental in building a next-generation streaming gateway platform from the ground up. This is a hands-on engineering position ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments and can hit the ground running with Envoy.

Required Skills:

• Deep hands-on experience with Envoy Proxy (deployment, debugging, filter/extension development).
• Experience with Istio Ingress Gateway or K-Gateway.
• Proficiency with Kubernetes, Helm, Docker, and Terraform.
• Strong programming experience in Java, Node.js, or Python.
• Background in functional and performance testing.
• Proven experience supporting production systems.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with Spring Boot.
• Familiarity with PostgreSQL.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the deployment, configuration, and debugging of Envoy Proxy in production environments.
• Design and develop custom Envoy filters/extensions to enhance gateway functionality.
• Collaborate on the architecture and implementation of a scalable streaming gateway platform.
• Integrate with API Gateway solutions and service mesh technologies such as Istio Ingress Gateway or K-Gateway.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure using Kubernetes, Helm, Docker, and Terraform.
• Write clean, maintainable code in Java, Node.js, or Python.
• Implement unit tests, test automation, and performance testing strategies.
• Provide production support including triaging and resolving issues.
• Participate in daily stand-up calls and contribute to ongoing development and deployment efforts.
