This role will be pivotal in managing a broad range of tax and accounting responsibilities, with a focus on state and local tax, tax planning, corporate tax returns, tax preparation, audit and tax, federal & state tax, individual tax accounting, and complex international tax issues. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of accounting principles, tax laws, and international tax regulations. The CPA will play a crucial role in financial decision-making and operations as they will be responsible for the planning, management, and compliance of all tax matters. Responsibilities Prepare and review federal and state income tax returns for individuals, businesses, benefit funds, real estate, and exempt organizations. Manage all aspects of state and local tax, tax planning, and corporate tax returns. Handle complex tax planning and strategy for international operations. Prepare and review quarterly and annual income tax provisions. Identify and mitigate tax risks. Coordinate accounting staff and manage tax planning. Liaise with tax authorities and provide tax audit support for the company. Review current and deferred tax provision calculations. Research and correct process errors that caused incorrect tax filings. Negotiate with tax authorities over tax payment issues. Advise management on the impact of new laws on tax liabilities. Coordinate outsourced tax preparation work. Understand and advise on the tax implications of company business strategies. Qualifications Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation required. 5+ years of progressive experience in public accounting or a combination of public and corporate tax experience. A strong understanding of state and local tax, tax planning, corporate tax returns, and tax preparation. Proficient in audit and tax, federal & state tax, individual tax accounting. Experience in handling complex international tax issues and understanding of international tax regulations. Strong analytical skills with detail orientation. Prior supervisory experience required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong knowledge of tax code, compliance and procedures for corporations. Familiarity with U.S. federal, state, and local reporting requirements. Strong experience with a variety of tax operations and ability to drive process improvements. Strong ability to utilize project management and accounting best practices to organize and prioritize tasks. Jobot is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
