C. & E. Merdinian Armenian Evangelical School – Sherman Oaks, CA

Start Date: July 1, 2025 | Full-Time, 12-Month Position

C. & E. Merdinian Armenian Evangelical School is seeking a mission-aligned, detail-oriented Chief of Staff to support the Principal and leadership team in driving school-wide initiatives, enhancing internal operations, and strengthening community engagement. This strategic role is ideal for a proactive leader who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced educational environment and is passionate about Christian education and student success.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Operations & Leadership Support

Serve as a trusted advisor to the Principal, helping prioritize initiatives, manage cross-functional projects, and ensure smooth day-to-day operations. Lead internal planning processes and track progress on strategic goals.

Internal & External Communications

Coordinate school-wide messaging, including newsletters, announcements, and policy updates. Ensure clarity, consistency, and alignment with the school’s mission and brand. Support crisis communication planning and execution.

Event & Activity Coordination

Oversee planning and execution of major school events such as open houses, fundraisers, board meetings, student showcases, and parent engagement activities. Collaborate with faculty, staff, and volunteers to ensure events are mission-driven, inclusive, and well-executed.

Community & Stakeholder Engagement

Build and maintain strong relationships with parents, alumni, local churches, and community partners. Lead initiatives that promote family involvement, volunteerism, and alumni engagement.

Innovation & Technology Integration

Identify and implement tools, including AI platforms and digital systems, that improve communication, data tracking, and operational efficiency. Support staff in adopting new technologies that enhance productivity and collaboration.

Faculty & Staff Coordination

Facilitate internal alignment by supporting interdepartmental communication, scheduling, and follow-through on key initiatives. Help onboard new staff and support professional development planning.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Communications, Business, or related field (Master’s preferred)
  • 3–5 years of experience in school administration, project management, or communications
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and written communication skills
  • Experience with event planning, digital tools, and stakeholder engagement
  • Familiarity with AI tools and educational technology platforms
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with discretion, initiative, and attention to detail
  • Alignment with the school’s Christian mission; Armenian language/culture familiarity is a plus
